Stolen: Satellite Phone in Baghdad Timmy Miles Iraqi authorities report that insurgents stole a satellite phone and ran up $875,000 in phone calls. They say that the phone was used to make calls to Saudi Arabia and Yemen, which are known to be bases for al-Qaida. The phone was reported stolen in June when its operator - Thuraya - picked up abnormal billing information. The company that makes the satellite phone (Thuraya Satellite Telecommunication Company) was founded in the United Arab Emirates in 1997. |
