The Fallen Tree: Different Perspectives

Have you heard?

The secondary school tree that gives shade to all students has once again fallen over. The tree is under construction. They are going to try to cement a pole into the ground then tie the tree to the cemented pole. They have successfully cemented the pole into the ground. Now they just need to tie the tree down with something. - Shayla Sandoval

The Multiple Fallings of a Tree

The tree that has provided us shade for several years has fallen a gain. The tree first fell last year while they have attempted to keep the tree standing the attempts have proven unsuccessful. The cause of the falling trees the storms we've had in the past. Currently there is a metal pole cemented in the center of where the tree once stood, the purpose of the pole has yet to be seen. – Joseph Physher

The tree was good

On October 12, 2005, a tree near the benches of the secondary school fell.  It was a very windy day when the tree toppled because it had not put out a good root system.  The tree was good for many reasons.  It gave shade; it was a good place to eat and plenty of other things. But now its roots are out of the ground, and it reminds me of hurricane Katrina because of all those trees that fell over and were smashed. Our tree has been lying there for the past week.  I wonder if it will ever stand up and stay up again. – Monica Seng

Tree has fallen again

In the front of the secondary school the tree that provided shade for years has fallen down. An attempt to stop the tree from falling after it was brought back up was made but it was not a success. The tree has fallen again (above) and a second attempt is currently underway but this time a metal rod secured by cement will hold it up. The tree is currently off limits to any person that is not trying to bring it back up. So do not touch the tree. At this time little shade is available but soon the tree should be back upright and shade abundant so give the tree some time it's older then you. The problem the tree might have is getting water because half of its roots are broken off. - Kris Hillmer
