Class
Websites
Most
classes have a class website. To access this site, just put your mouse
over "course websites" and click on it. After clicking on the icon, you
should have list of subjects in that course. To get onto your class
website, click on the class from the list, and there you go. These
sites contain important dates, syllabus, assignments, interesting links,
etc. These sites contain interesting material that can be very useful when
you are stuck on one particular assignment, or multiple tasks. The sites
are also available for the elementary school. For the elementary school,
just click on a classroom and you have the class site. We all hope these
sites can help you and give you good advice as you complete your tasks.
The New
Computer Laboratory
Probably all of you
at AMS have seen the computer laboratory. This lab is located in the
corridor across the hall from the media room. The lab is stocked with flat
screen, Acer, Intel Celeron processor computers! The new lab was opened to
students about a week ago. These computers have a clear hard-drive and are
lightning fast! They all have access to the Internet, and all print! There
are twenty Acer computers and six dell computers! The room that the
computers are in is not completed yet, but even more wonderful features
are being added this minute! Students are asked to take care and respect
these computers as their own. We ask that only appropriate text be viewed,
and that you not touch the screens.
Bake
Sale
Lots of people know about the
weekly bake sales the student council holds on Tuesdays and Fridays. We
carry baked goods, candy, and a lot more! We ask you bring a maximum of
one dollar to purchase items, for the most expensive items we carry are
seventy five cents. We have made about sixty to seventy dollars thanks to
your purchases and donations. The bake sale purpose is to raise money for
the school and to raise money for school dances, field trips, etc. The
bake sale is held on the table by the east entrance of the middle school.
We appreciate your purchases and hope you will continue to be faithful
customers. You can also earn money for your school by bring in box tops
for education.
Halloween
Some Halloween programs have
been established to ensure a safe, fun holiday experience. The YMCA is
conducting a program called "trunk-o-treat," in which people approved and
supervised by YMCA staff bring candy and place it in the trunks of their
cars. The way the program operates is that kids walk in the YMCA parking
lot, taking candy from the trunk as they pass. This is an honor program.
The kids are expected to take a modest amount of candy and leave some for
other children in need. This program is run for kids that live in un-safe
neighborhoods. We would like to assure parents that this program is
totally safe and reliable. We at Allmost News think that this program
would be great for dressing up and showing off costumes. We hope you have
fun!
The
School dance
The
student council has planned a school dance for the middle school. This
plan is in the process of being approved by either David Jones or Liza.
This dance will need chaperones, so tell your parents about the upcoming
dance and find out whether or not they would like to volunteer. If your
parents are going to volunteer, have them call Liza Crawford at the school
phone number (520)-743-2256. The dance will also need refreshments such as
drinks, bakery items, etc. We thank you for your participation and that of
your parents. We hope you have fun!!
The
Work Contest
The
Allmost news crew will be hosting a work contest in which Allmost news
reporters will be observing hard-working students. The student who has
worked the hardest and completed the most work will receive a prize. The
second place prize will be a smaller item. We hope you have fun with this
contest and work hard. This program can benefit both you, and your
teachers! So get all caught up and work, work, work! Parents can donate
items as prizes, but make sure they're appropriate.
Your
Suggestions
If you would like to submit your
opinions or suggestions to the reporters of Allmost News, place your
comments in the box located in the office. Allmost News would be happy to
give you any requested information or details on a certain subject,
although we ask that you not submit any harsh comments about the staff,
building, or the school in general. We also ask that you not deposit any
trash or un-wanted items in the box. This is an opportunity that can
benefit both students and staff. |
