The
Undying Will A brave, young, warrior, in the English army, had set out to go to war with France. His name was William Richman. It took thirty days and thirty nights for the army to reach France. “Sir…” said a man named Mr. Gibbs. “How much longer will it be to get to France?” “Not much longer,” said William. “About five miles.” It started to rain. Their cloths where sagging from the rain; their shoes covered in mud, making it harder for the army to walk. “What would happen if you died? Your wife, Elizabeth, she would be alone.” said Mr. Gibbs. “I know.” said William. “Finally… we are here, men. Get out your bow and arrows, and be ready to attack at any moment.” “State your business!” shouted the guard. “Well, answer!” The army started to shoot their arrows at the guard. “Oh my… the war has begun!” shouted the guard. Then the French army started shooting arrows and dropping rocks on the English army. “Open fire!” yelled William. “Oooffff!” William had been shot. He spilt blood all over the ground. “Sir!” yelled Mr. Gibbs. “Sir, are you alright?” “Every things going black.” said William weakly. “You’ll be fine, sir. You're not going to die; I wont let you.” said Mr. Gibbs. “Tell Elizabeth I love her.” said William. And with that, William died. “Ok, men.” said Mr. Gibbs with his eyes full of tears. “We’ve got to win this. For William!” “For William!” shouted the rest of the army. England won the war, and returned to England to celebrate. “Elizabeth, I have bad news.” said Mr. Gibbs. “Your husband, William, died in the war.” “What!” said Elizabeth starting to cry. “He lived a good life.” said Mr. Gibbs. “I don’t think that any one will forget him.” And no one ever did forget him. People still say that they can hear him singing “Hurrah, hurrah for England!” The End |
