Eggs
Zach Zache

Returning from the bathroom in the middle of the night, Mac saw a bright, green light issuing from his bedroom. As he stepped inside, he saw an emerald colored egg on his bed. He took it off of his bed, set it on his shelf, and went back to sleep. That morning, he remembered the egg, and looked for it on the shelf. After he could not find it, he thought it was just a dream. What Mac didn’t know, was that the egg was real, and was the start of an alien invasion.

Riiiiiiing, Riiiiiiiing.” The school bell rang. As his teacher gave the class their homework, all he could think about was the egg.

Was it really just a dream? Did it even matter?” All of these questions rang through his head. As he was walking home, his friend Juliana rode her bike alongside. “ Why are you so freaked out about a stupid dream?” she asked.

“Well, you know those weird eggs in Alien, and how they suck your face?”

“Yeah.”

“Well, it looks like one of those.” Said Mac.

She kind of quieted down after that. When he got home, he threw his backpack down and went to look for the egg. In his parent’s room, he found his mom on the bed groaning.

“What’s the matter, Mom?”

“ Oh, Honey. Last night I had a horrible dream about some weird thing attaching to my face. But now, my stomach feels horrible.”

 He was struck in fear.

“Uh, Mom, I’ll be right back.” He ran over to Juliana’s.

“Ding-dong”,

“I’ll get it. Hey Mac.”

“Julie, this is bad. My mom said she dreamt of some thing attaching to her face, like in Alien, and now she says her stomach hurts really bad!”

“Uh-oh!”

“Uh –oh is right!”

“Let’s go see if she is okay!”

When they came back, she was fine.

He realized it was a dream. But if that had been a dream, why was there a large emerald egg on his bed?
